roads lead to Pendleton
Located on the Oregon
Trail, Pendleton is nearly equidistant from
Portland, Boise, Idaho and Spokane,
Washington; Pendleton is a natural
transportation hub and distribution center.
Pendleton is located at the junction of
three major highways. Interstate Highway 84
north is the primary east-west highway,
which passes through Pendleton and
connecting 30 miles West with Interstate
Highway 82. Oregon State Highways 37 and 395
are the main north-south routes. Also,
Pendleton has access to Walla Walla,
Washington and points to the northeast via
Oregon State Highway 11.
The Tri-Cities, a major regional shopping
center, is located an easy hour drive from
Pendleton.
In addition to being at the junction of
major route structures, Pendleton is also
geographically located in the Center of
Umatilla County.
Portland, Oregon is located 211 miles to the
west. Spokane, Washington is located 204
miles to the northeast, while Boise, Idaho
is 229 miles to the southeast. Pendleton is
also located 67 miles from the Tri-Cities
(Richland, Pasco, & Kennewick, Washington),
which is to the northwest.
