Part of Pendleton for more than 100 years, JCAHO-accredited non-profit St. Anthony Hospital is one of the largest area employers, with a team of more than 300 and a medical staff of about 45.
Founded in 1901 by Franciscan nuns, St. Anthony Hospital is proud of its strong commitment to bring big city healthcare technology to rural eastern Oregon. Core values of reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence guide this faith-based hospital in its support of unique local partnerships like the Healthier Communities Coalition and the Columbia TeenScreen program.

Its parent company, Catholic Health Initiatives, is a national not-for-profit healthcare organization comprised of 68 hospitals, 45 long-term care, assisted and independent living and residential facilities, and six community health services organizations, located in 19 states.

In addition to the outstanding hospital, a large number of health professionals deliver the complete spectrum of care. Medical offices, laboratories, and other imaging facilities are located in buildings near the hospital as well as in the Medical Center on Southgate. Dental and vision needs are also met by a number of highly qualified and friendly offices.

Mental health, addiction treatment, counseling, home health, and public health services are also readily available in Pendleton. At least 5 facilities provide assisted living, residential care and memory care.
